We took the idea of camouflage from the animal world where you have the chameleon for example changing color to blend in with the rocky background or the fishes in coral reef blending in, here one second gone the next. So why is this related to fashion? Well, one possibility from a purely military point of view is that folks associate camouflage with soldiers, which in turn relates to strong, powerful and sexy, and fashion is all about feeling good, looking good and being in control.
